Jordana Brewster chats with Us about Fast X, finding The One and why she feels like she's just getting started

Life In the FAST LANE

At 43, Jordana Brewster feels like she’s just hitting her stride. “I’ve always had this gut instinct that life would begin at 40 for me,” says the actress. “I’m an old soul. I felt like, when I’m in my 40s, I’m totally going to fly.” No wonder she’s soaring to new heights, both personally and professionally. She has two movies out — Fast X, the 10th installment of the Fast & Furious franchise, and her new sci-fi thriller, Simulant — as well as a Netflix comedy on the way. And she’s still basking in newlywed bliss after tying the knot with businessman Mason Morfit in September 2022 (Brewster and ex Andrew Form — who split in 2021 — share sons Julian, 9, and Rowan, 6). “It makes sense that I met the love of my life at 40,” adds the star. “It’s just a really fun time, and I’m enjoying it all.”

It sounds like you’re really loving life these days.

I am! The actresses I most admire are in their 40s and 50s. The roles are more complex. For a while, I was sidelined to the girlfriend or the good-girl parts. I’m having more fun now than I did in my 20s.

Do you think aging is getting less of a bad rap?

I do. Age is regarded very differently now. Demi Moore is 60 and looks absolutely incredible. And Salma Hayek, too. Look at J.Lo. It’s insane!
