From Canceled to It's Complicated

We're in the gray area between forever condemnation and zero accountability. That may be a good thing
On her Life of a Showgirl track "Cancelled!," Taylor Swift reveals that she likes her pals to be fellow outcasts, "cloaked in Gucci and in scandal." In 2025, she wasn't alone.
Recently, some of #MeToo's original Bad Men have been inching their way back to mainstream acceptance: Louis C.K., who in 2017 confirmed allegations of sexual misconduct but stopped short of apologizing, has a new stand-up special and a new novel. The New Yorker describes him as "not quite exiled, not quite welcomed back." Director Brett Ratner disappeared after multiple accusations of sexual misconduct in 2017, and in the last weeks of 2025, was announced to be directing the upcoming fourth installment of his Rush Hour franchise, as well as a doc on First Lady Melania Trump.
And following a guilty plea and prison time for multiple crimes, including wire fraud in the 2019 college admissions scandal, actor Lori Loughlin announced in December that she'll be returning to her Hallmark show, When Calls the Heart, from which she was fired in 2019.
