Kerry defies online trolls

Newly single Kerry Katona blasts her body-shaming social media critics and tells Mew she’s feeling great and won't let the mean comments get to her

Kerry Katona has been around long enough to know that the internet can be a cruel place – but she tells us she’ll never give in to the trolls.

The former Atomic Kitten star, 44, found herself on the receiving end of more than a few nasty comments about her appearance, after she stripped off to a tiny bikini in Thailand last week.

But the mum-of-five told new she feels so confident after shedding 2st in recent months and says that she’ll never let the negativity dim her shine.

“The comments are usually positive, but you do get the odd negative one,” she told us. “I don’t let it get to me, I actually embrace the negative comments.

“The fact that people have taken time out of their day to comment on me, and tell me they don’t like me… They clearly like me enough to be looking at my pictures and commenting. I love it.

“I’m confident and feel good, so I don’t care what trolls think or say, I ignore the hate. It seems they’re still interested in what I’m doing!”

Kerry, who turns 45 in September, was determined to enjoy her first Valentine’s Day as a single woman, by heading off on a sunshine getaway to Thailand. She also took her daughter, Heidi, with her as an extra-special early birthday treat as the teenager will be turning 18 on 20 February.
