IN WHAT would undoubtedly be the most shocking split in modern American history, sources exclusively reveal to The National ENQUIRER that former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama are heading for divorce — and plans are already in place to map out how their high-profile separation will look.

"Barack is ready to move on, and Michelle is too," a source close to the couple says. "She sacrificed so much for him over the years, and she's finally putting herself first."

The couple has admitted it was challenging juggling careers and raising daughters Sasha and Malia

A second Beltway source confirms: "They're already separated and living apart. Divorce will come later and quietly. For them to admit the failure is quite humiliating."

The cracks in their relationship have been hiding in plain sight for years, but recent events raised major red flags.

Michelle's glaring absence from President Jimmy Carter's funeral sent shockwaves through Washington — and The ENQUIRER can report that Michelle chose to extend her stay in Hawaii instead!
