GRATEFUL Charla Nash gushes that a revolutionary face transplant “brought my life back” — nearly 16 years after being mauled by her friend’s crazed chimpanzee in a vicious attack that left the Connecticut gal grotesquely disfigured, blind and unable to care for herself.

Now 71, Nash is 14 years out from being fitted with a new mug at Brigham and Women's Hospital and receiving glass eyes after her own damaged peepers needed to be plucked out because she'd contracted a disease transmitted by the psychotic simian.
