This past May, rumors emerged that the release of Britney Spears’ memoir was being delayed due to strongly worded legal letters that her publisher, Simon & Schuster, had received. Among those allegedly concerned about what the star might write? Ex Justin Timberlake.

Now fans seemingly know why. Brit, 41, reveals in The Woman in Me, which finally hit shelves on Oct. 24, that she got pregnant in 2000 while the two pop stars were dating — and Justin, 42, convinced her to undergo an abortion. “I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day,” the “Toxic” singer writes. “He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young…. If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father.”
