On the heels of his hit docuseries, the music icon and family man opens up about his incredible life and hopes for the future

It’s his life! And Jon Bon Jovi is living it exactly the way he wants to – with his wife by his side. “There’s not a glimmer of doubt that I got it right,” the rock ’n’ roll star has said of marrying his high school sweetheart, Dorothea Hurley, 61. “I get excited when I see her in the morning, every single day.” Together, they share four children – daughter Stephanie, 30, and sons Jesse, 29, Jake, 21, and Romeo, 20. And as the New Jersey native, 62, notes, they’ve done a lot of “growing together” as parents. “That first night with [our daughter], we were like, ‘There’s no owner’s manual that comes with this!’” he joked on the School of Greatness podcast. “And then with every child, and every chapter of every child, the playbook changes. But you figure it all out, one step at a time.”

These days, the “Livin’ on a Prayer” hitmaker is in a celebratory mood, having marked not only 35 years of marriage with Dorothea but also the 40th anniversary of his band’s debut album, Bon Jovi
