CITY OF ANGELS ABLAZE

As wildfires consume Los Angeles, many Hollywood stars are forced to evacuate, leaving some helplessly watching while their homes are destroyed by flames
‘The loss is overwhelming,’ posts a distraught Paris Hilton (above) as she watches her Malibu home burn. And she isn’t alone in her grief. Other stars whose properties were destroyed by fire include (below, from left) Mandy Moore and her This Is Us co-star Milo Ventimiglia, husband and wife Leighton Meester and Adam Brody and Canadian natives Eugene Levy, Joshua Jackson and Cobie Smulders and her husband, Taran Killam.
The images of destruction and devastation caused by the wildfires in Los Angeles may be reminiscent of scenes from Hollywood blockbuster films, but this is not a movie – it is a tragic reality for residents of the California city, including many beloved entertainers. “You know, it’s not lost on me, life imitating art,” commented actor Milo Ventimiglia, who lost his Malibu home to the fires and also battled a blaze on the television series This Is Us.
Surveying the remnants of his charred property, Milo, 47, held back tears. “You start thinking about all the memories in different parts of the house ... and your heart just breaks.”
According to Milo, he and his partner, Jarah Mariano – who is expecting a child any day now – will get through it. “Wife and baby and dog are the most important,” he said. Paris Hilton, 43 – whose Malibu residence was also consumed by fire – echoed Milo’s sentiment about priorities.
“In this pain, I know I’m incredibly lucky – my loved ones, my babies and my pets are safe,” shared the mom of two after visiting the remains of her house. “This home was where we built so many precious memories. It’s where [my son] Phoenix took his first steps and where we dreamed of building a lifetime of memories with [my daughter] London.”
