As the UEFA Women's Euros kick off, Lionesses Beth Mead and Grace Clinton sing the praises of footballing friendships

Its fair to say that there is more than a little pressure on England’s Lionesses as they head into the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 finals in Switzerland.

After all, the team brought the trophy home at the most recent tournament in 2022, earning their place in sporting history and making household names of players including Beth Mead, Jill Scott and Chloe Kelly.

With the hopes of the nation riding on them as they face the Netherlands in the group stages this week, Beth, 30, says the team are ready to defend England’s title.

“We know we've got a target on our back this time around, but it’s a target that we're going to enjoy,” the Arsenal forward exclusively tells HELLO!.

“It’s a tough tournament and we're in a tough group. We've got to work hard, as a team and as individuals, and put ourselves in the best possible space leading into it.

“But it’s going to be a big spectacle for women’s football and one we're all excited to be part of.”
