SINGLE AND STRONGER THAN EVER

Tamzin Outhwaite, the first guest on our new Second Act podcast, opens up about why she's chosen to be on her own

Following a year in which she negotiated an amicable split from her younger boyfriend, Tamzin Outhwaite finally feels, at 54, as though she has “grown up”. And this new outlook has completely changed her life, she says.

Referring to her former partner, director Tom Child, she says: “I just did six and a half years in a relationship with a man 20 years younger than me. He’s still one of my best friends, and I adore him. But I had to say: ‘I don’t want to share a bed. I'm in a phase where I need to be on my own.' I didn’t want to never see him again, so we're mates, which feels very grown up.”
