Drawing on inspiration from her Indian heritage and British background, Anita Rani's debut jewellery collection for Carrie Elizabeth is designed to empower
Anita Rani is known best for her work on BBC1's Countryfile and BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour, but the broadcaster has also covered some of our biggest royal events, including Elizabeth II's funeral and the coronation.
However, her talent doesn't end there. After showing a different side to her on Strictly Come Dancing in 2015, when she reached the semifinal, Anita is letting her sparkly side loose again with jewellery designer Carrie Elizabeth.
Inspired by her childhood in northern England and her Indian heritage, the star has designed a jewellery range to help harness your inner feminine energy. Named Shakti after the Hindu goddess of female power, it features powerful gemstones including labradorite, malachite and black onyx.
We caught up with Anita to find out more...
Anita, tell us about your Shakti collection...
"These are all beautiful pieces that I'd love to wear. In fact, I wear the Shakti collection every day. It's powerful, sexy and divinely feminine."
How did your collaboration come about?
"This collaboration was meant to be. I love Carrie - her energy, what she stands for, her brilliant team of women who work with her, and her power. It takes a lot of dedication, passion and determination to be as successful as she is.
"And she's lovely! I love her vision and her drive and she has a great eye for all things beautiful. Like me, she's a magpie."
What was the inspiration behind the collection?
