NARNIA COMES TO ANNABEL'S

The creative director Tatiana Kharchylava has transformed the elite Mayfair club into a World of Wonder

The elite members' club Annabel's in Mayfair has long been associated with the biggest names in high society.

Frequented by the late Princess Diana and the only nightclub the late Queen Elizabeth II ever visited, it is the place where aristocrats, stars and supermodels have let their hair down.

Its Christmas display is one of the most anticipated of the season and this year's does not disappoint. Titled The Wardrobe: A World of Wonder, the facade of 46 Berkeley Square is inspired by CS Lewis's novel The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, explains Tatiana Kharchylava, the creative director of The Birley Clubs, of which Annabel's is a part.

She adds: "We call it the Wardrobe of Wonders. Through these doors of the wardrobe you bring the magic of hope, wonder, a bright future. The lion represents strength and wisdom at the same time, but also the fragility of the world."
