Thomasina Miers fell for Mexican food as a young traveller. After winning MasterChef in 2005, she co-founded Wahaca, bringing the energy of Mexican street food to the UK. A committed advocate for sustainable food systems, Tommi, who received an OBE in 2019, lives in London with her husband and three daughters.

A luxury night has to be with close friends – not too many – going to a properly delicious restaurant. Or watching a great movie at my local cinema, the Lexi: small screens, lovely drinks. I tend only to go to restaurants where I know the food is good, because we eat pretty well at home. My grandmother was a Norman Hartnell model, which meant I grew up dressing up in her incredible clothes. I inherited half that wardrobe and a passion for foraging in vintage shops.
