FINDING HAPPINESS AT LAST

As a new documentary looks back on his stellar career, Tom Daley opens up about beating grief and adapting to a very different life

He started diving aged just seven and made his Olympic debut when he was 14, dedicating his life to the sport - but despite his stellar success, Tom Daley tells HELLO! that he wants his two sons with husband Dustin Lance Black to follow their own paths.

“I want to be led by what they want to do,” the Olympic gold medallist tells us in this exclusive interview. “The way you can be your happiest is finding something you're passionate about, that you love to do, and then making it something you do every day. That’s my hope for them.”

The star is clearly proud of his sons, Robbie, seven, and Phoenix, two. The pair often appear in Tom’s YouTube vlogs, via which his elder child is almost becoming a star in his own right.

“Robbie's got a lot of personality, but there’s also a part of me, with everything I went through as a kid, that wants to protect him as much as possible,” he says.
