Whatever the weather, the Princess Royal's striking outfits are guaranteed to brighten any official engagement. And for Anne, who turns 73 this week, there is one particular colour that enhances her presence when she is on royal duty-yellow.

One of her favourite garments is a stylish mustard coat trimmed with navy, which she has worn a number of times over the past 16 years.

With her no-nonsense attitude to fashion, and evidently a firm believer in recycling, Anne has sported the piece no fewer than eight times.
