FORTY percent of cancer cases could be prevented by avoiding just four risk factors, according to a new study from the World Health Organization.

The study analyzed cancer diagnoses worldwide and examined how many were linked to specific risk factors. The researchers found that of the 18.7 million new cancer cases diagnosed in 2022, roughly 7.1 million were tied to preventable risk factors.
