I loved Shakespeare and in college, I studied journalism and advertisement. Around the same time, I started assisting Hussain Zaidi, who was fresh off the release of Dongri to Dubai.

Hussain Zaidi was the one who said that I can take up writing professionally. I was 18-19 at that time and had a few chapters of The Bard of Blood written. I sent the chapters to Hussain sir and he sent those to Penguin.

I wrote The Bard of Blood in the next six or seven months and then it got published. It happened in a blur. I was going with the flow.

Hussain sir also made me meet Emraan Hashmi to write his book, Kiss of Life. We started work on his book even before mine came out.

I learnt a lot from Hussain Zaidi. I also read a lot and watched a lot of movies to learn and figure out how to tell a story.

Aryan Khan, Manav Chauhan, and I are close to each other. They made a few films earlier and I would meet them and watch whatever they shot.
