For Hindi film stars, the Filmfare Award isn't just a trophy, it's an experience, it's an emotion. The trophy, fondly referred to as the Black Lady, has come to symbolise recognition, legacy and a dream fulfilled. Over the decades, countless actors have held it close to their hearts, often with misty eyes and overwhelming gratitude. We dipped into the Filmfare archives and invited a few stars, Kartik Aaryan, Imran Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Jaideep Ahlawat, to revisit some of their most cherished Filmfare moments. What followed were candid reflections, unfiltered emotions and beautiful stories that reminded us why this award still matters so deeply.

When Kartik Aaryan was shown a video of his Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 costar Madhuri Dixit Nene from the Filmfare archives, he couldn't help but be in awe of her. The clip featured Madhuri accepting the award for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) for Dil Toh Pagal Hai. In her speech, she thanked her seniors, colleagues and fans, and added, “Every moment of working with Yash Chopra ji on Dil Toh Pagal Hai was worth the wait.” She went on to dedicate the award to her critics, saying, “I would like to dedicate this award to the so-called critics who've been hinting that I should probably pack my bags, as I think this is public opinion.”

A fan-favourite himself, Kartik was quick to react. “Superb! Bindaas she is. She’s clearly been like that throughout, unreal. Kya line hai! I'm definitely going to use it someday. I'll credit Madhuri Dixit ji and tell her I'm stealing her line,” he said with a laugh. Speaking further on the subject, Kartik added, “Sometimes you do feel that it’s targeted. I've felt that too. So at those times, this line will work really well. What a lovely archival video, how beautiful she is.”
