The mattress industry in India has shown significant growth over the last few years, especially post covid. The pandemic served as a wake-up call that forced people to take their health and wellbeing seriously. Given the fact that peaceful sleep plays an important role in one's wellness; the mattress industry has been showing steady growth since then. According to a report by consulting firm Redseer, India's mattress market was estimated at around Rs 20,000 crore in 2022 and the organized segment commanded 40% of it. Approximately 7-9 million mattresses are sold in the country each year, with the replacement cycle kicking every decade.
GROWTH PROJECTIONS:
The latest Mordor Intelligence Report pegs the Indian Mattress Market size at an estimated USD 2.31 billion in 2025; expecting it to reach USD 3.48 billion by 2030, at a CAGR of 8.54%.
The Indian mattress market is fragmented, with a large number of branded and non-branded players selling a variety of mattresses through local distribution channels. Some of the existing players in the India Mattress market are Duroflex, Springfit, Sheela Foam and Springwel.
GROWTH TRENDS:
Mordor Intelligence report adds that the growth of the Indian mattress market is being driven by an increase in income levels, a rise in health consciousness and expansion in the real estate and hospitality sectors.
