MOVING MEGAWATTS: POWERING RENEWABLES LOGISTICS DRIVE

India's renewable energy sector is a global powerhouse, driven by ambitious policies and surging demand. As of August 2025, installed renewable capacity exceeds 200 GW, with solar at 123 GW and wind at 46 GW, per the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. The country added 22 GW in H1 2025, a 57 per cent year-on-year surge, with solar leading at 17 GW.

India has set a target of 500 GW of non-fossil capacity by 2030, with renewables projected to meet 50 per cent of electricity needs, reducing coal reliance, which current stands at 70 per cent. In this, the solar energy sector stands as a beacon of its ambitious clean energy transition, embodying the nation's commitment to sustainable development amid a rapidly growing economy. With a population exceeding 1.4 billion and energy demand projected to double by 2040, solar power has emerged as the cornerstone of India's renewable energy strategy.

This surge is not just about installing panels but transforming India's energy landscape, reducing reliance on coal and curbing emissions to meet net-zero goals by 2070.

At the heart of this transformation are massive solar projects, from sprawling utility-scale parks to decentralised rooftop installations. These initiatives drive economic growth, create jobs—over 300,000 in solar manufacturing alone—and position India as the world's third-largest solar market.

imageYet, the scale of these projects introduces complexities in logistics, particularly project cargo, which involves the transportation of oversized, high-value equipment like solar modules, inverters, and mounting structures.
