|September 2025
Kolkata witnessed a landmark moment for Eastern India's logistics industry as the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Eastern Region organized the inaugural edition of CII LogisEast 2025 on 12-13 August 2025 at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, New Town. The two-day event, positioned as one of the largest logistics and warehousing initiatives in the region, brought together an impressive lineup of industry leaders, policymakers, MSMEs, supply chain experts, and technology providers.

With the central theme, “Transforming Logistics in Eastern India: Bridging Gaps and Building Futures”, the summit and exhibition reinforced West Bengal's emergence as a logistics cluster hub under the guiding framework of the West Bengal Logistics Policy 2023.
India’s logistics industry, currently valued at over USD 320 billion, is experiencing unprecedented transformation. Government reforms such as PM Gati Shakti, the National Logistics Policy, and a growing emphasis on multimodal transport infrastructure are reshaping the sector.
Against this backdrop, the inclusion of Eastern India, often seen as the missing link in India’s logistics narrative, is critical. CII LogisEast 2025 was conceptualised to address this very gap — providing a dedicated platform to showcase solutions, build collaborations, and spotlight opportunities that can propel Eastern India into the national logistics growth story.
A standout feature of the event was the logistics and supply chain exhibition, the first ever curated exclusively for Eastern India by CII. Spread over two days, the exhibition featured a diverse range of logistics solutions, infrastructure capabilities, warehousing innovations, freight forwarding models, last-mile delivery platforms, and digital tools.
The exhibition floor witnessed high business engagement, with participants actively networking, negotiating, and exploring partnerships. The event was strongly supported by industry bodies including the National Association of Container Freight Stations (NACFS), Federation of Freight Forwarders’ Associations in India (FFFAI), and Calcutta Customs House Agents’ Association (CCHAA).
