West Bay's coastline set for transformation

GLOBAL and regional developers have been invited to participate in a public-private partnership (PPP) project that aims to help shape the future of sustainable seaside experiences in Qatar through the transformation of five West Bay beachfront plots and the iconic Al Safliya Island.

Qatar Tourism, in collaboration with the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), and Invest Qatar, launched the Expression of Interest (Eol) process for the landmark development on May 22 during the Qatar Economic Forum, with bidders required to submit their documents within one month.
The Eol indicated that Qatar Tourism through Ashghal is planning a design, build, finance, operate, maintain and transfer (DBFOMT) tender for the development of the project. The developer will be fully responsible for the design, build, finance, operation and maintenance of the facilities over a period of 25 years.
From family-friendly beaches and luxury beach clubs to resorts, dining, and vibrant nightlife, this mixed-use development aims to offer something for every visitor - bringing the city’s coast to life, day and night.
