The exciting new Netflix series featuring PGA TOUR stars is supercharging interest in golf.

Full Swing Ahead

IN RECENT YEARS, INTEREST IN THE GAME OF GOLF HAS been growing. In 2022, more than one-third of the U.S. population over the age of five played golf, followed golf on television or online, read about the game, or listened to a golf-related podcast, according to the National Golf Foundation. And that number is only expected to rise.

So, what better time for Netflix to release its golf-focused series, Full Swing? While there was some skepticism about how exciting a docu-series about golf could be when the project was announced late last year, the show documents one of the most intense seasons in PGA TOUR history.

"With how wild professional golf was this last year what a time to start filming," said Jordan Spieth, one of the show's stars and three-time PGA TOUR major champion, when asked about Full Swing at the 2023 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in Monterey, Calif.

Inspired by the format of the streaming service's popular show Formula 1: Drive to Survive, the eight-episode series that debuted globally in February follows some of the biggest names in golf like Spieth, as well as more than a dozen others, including Rory Mcllroy, Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, and Scottie Scheffler, as they navigate challenges in their professional and personal lives.
