A New Season for Giving

December 2024/January 2025

As the PGA TOUR kicks off its 2025 season alongside its sponsors in Hawai'i, the organization is continuing to make an impact in local communities.

A New Season for Giving

THE PGA TOUR WILL OPEN ITS 2025 FEDEXCUP SEASON IN HAWAI'I WITH THE SENTRY IN MAUI AND THE SONY OPEN IN OAHU.

FOR GOLF ENTHUSIASTS, THE NEW YEAR DOESN'T BEGIN when the iconic ball drops in Times Square at midnight. It starts when PGA TOUR professionals tee it up on the lush greens of the Hawaiian Islands for the season-opening events. For more than a decade, the PGA TOUR has kicked off in the 50th state, and 2025 will be no different as the two-week long Opening Drive commences on January 2.

The season begins with the Sentry on Maui, and then the TOUR moves to Oahu, on a puddle-jump flight to Honolulu for the Sony Open. While the natural beauty of the Hawaiian Islands provides a breathtaking backdrop for golfers and fans, these events also provide a key opportunity for the PGA TOUR and its sponsors to give back to local communities.

The PGA TOUR has always made supporting and improving local communities a cornerstone of its events. Almost all tournaments are organized as nonprofit organizations to maximize charitable giving. To date, tournaments across all PGA TOURS throughout the years have generated more than $3.93 billion. As the 2025 season embarks, these donations will continue to grow-starting in Hawai'i.
