OPERATION SINDOOR: A PARADIGM SHIFT

India's handling of cross-border terrorism sponsored by Pakistan underwent a paradigm shift with Operation Sindoor, kicked off in response to the killing of 26 people by The Resistance Front, a Lashkar-e-Taiba proxy, at Pahalgam in Kashmir on April 26.

In sharp contrast to the erstwhile stand of severing diplomatic ties, shutting down trade, and closing air space etc., India has adopted a more hawkish posture in dealing with terror. Under Operation Sindoor, India hit back hard with precision strikes in the early hours of May 7, decimating the terror bases both in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK). India specifically targeted the terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and PoJK from where terrorist attacks against India were planned and directed. A total of nine sites were devastated.
