Fondly known as Dr. Sathya, he is the President and Pro-Chancellor of the SRM Group of Institutions & other group businesses spread across verticals & geographies, and one of India’s most dynamic educational entrepreneurs. His story is one of foresight and determination, marked by a rare ability to blend tradition with innovation across education, media, technology, and healthcare—always guided by social consciousness and the intent to give back to the community.

INHERITING A LEGACY, BUILDING HIS OWN

Born into the illustrious family of Dr. T. R. Paarivendhar, Founder Chancellor of SRM Group, Dr. Sathya grew up with the dual privilege and pressure of legacy. As the second son of a proven educationist, expectations were high—he was not only to sustain the reputation his father built but also to take it to greater heights. Rather than being weighed down, he embraced the responsibility with humility and hard work, determined to carve his own identity while strengthening the family’s mission.

EDUCATION & GLOBAL EXPOSURE

Raised in Chennai, his childhood was shaped by discipline, curiosity, and the conviction that education is the cornerstone of social transformation. After schooling, he pursued Mechanical Engineering at Anna University. He then broadened his horizons with a Master’s in Information Systems at Northeastern University, Boston. In 2002, he earned a Doctorate in Management, equipping himself with a powerful mix of technical knowledge, managerial expertise, and a global perspective—which he brought back to his roots.
