Women Leaders Arab Women Who Made History In 2023

The world saw many Arab women achieve firsts in 2023. Here are six of them.

Al Ali became the first Emirati woman to climb Mount Everest and Mount Lhotse within 24 hours, a feat known as “Peak to Peak” in June 2023, for which she had been training for 10 years. Her journey as a mountaineer began when she summited Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain, in 2013, followed by Europe’s highest mountain, Elbrus, in 2015. In 2017, she also became the first Emirati woman to summit Aconcagua, the highest mountain in South America.
