WHEN GOVERNMENTS and companies need to see what’s happening anywhere in the world, in near real time, Iceye is their hi-res view from above. Founded in 2014 to monitor sea ice, the Finnish company has built the world’s largest constellation of satellites equipped with synthetic aperture radar (SAR), which can see through cloud cover and darkness. In 2024, Iceye launched nine of its microsatellites, and it aims to launch another 20-plus in 2025 and each year moving forward.
