SA, Ukraine explore agri trade ties in state visit

President Cyril Ramaphosa welcomed his Ukrainian counterpart, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, to South Africa on 24 April, in a historic official visit at the Union Buildings in Pretoria, the first by a Ukrainian head of state.
The visit, which followed Ramaphosa's June 2023 trip to Ukraine as part of the Africa Peace Initiative, opened the door for deeper co-operation between the two nations, particularly in agriculture, trade and education.
Speaking to the SABC, Minister of Agriculture John Steenhuisen spoke about the significance of Ukraine's interest in South African agricultural products.
