Experience the sun and surf at Dolphin Beach Hotel

For all those who complain about the South-Easter wind that occasionally rages: and around Cape Town, there are kite surfers who search for it. "One man's meat is another man's poison," as the saying goes.

Although kitesurfing isn't on this writer's list of must-dos, it is for many others, given the numerous brightly coloured sails seen around the city and along the West Coast,.

Having direct access to the beach is a major plus point to staying at Bloubergstrand's Dolphin Beach Hotel, which was previously operated by Protea Hotels and is now managed by The Singer Group. The hotel is situated on two levels of a complex that includes villas, apartments and beach cabanas.

ACCOMMODATION

All hotel rooms are fully equipped, self-catering apartments that can accommodate four people: two in the queen-sized bed in a separate bedroom, and two children under the age of 12 on the sleeper couch in the sitting room.

Cleverly, the bathroom, with its bath, shower and twin vanities, can be accessed from both the sitting room and the bedroom.
