Bengaluru Airport set to expand with T3

The Bengaluru Airport is gearing up for significant expansion with the construction of a third terminal, Terminal 3, expected to be operational in the 2030s.

This development comes as a response to the substantial increase in passenger patronage, as stated by Satyaki Raghunath, the Chief Strategy and Development Officer of Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), the operator of the airport.

Raghunath, speaking during the launch of international flight services from Terminal 2 (T2), explained that the first phase of T2 is projected to accommodate 25 million passengers annually. Among them, 10 million will be international passengers, with the remaining being domestic travelers. Currently, Bengaluru Airport handles just under 35 million passengers each year. The addition of 25 million passengers through T2 will boost the airport's overall capacity to nearly 60 million passengers annually.
