Women in Construction highlighted the best that they bring to the table
-
Women in Construction, in its 4th year, continued to hold sway over the audience. While we kept it short and sweet, the latter tended to stretch more than we thought. Jayashree Mendes, Editor, Construction Week, opened the morning introducing the theme for the day. Thanking the partners such as Boon Edam, dormakaba, Xpedeon and Afcons, she went on to set the tone for the day.
Rahul Sequeira, MD, ITP Media Group (India), praised the platform that allow women to speak their mind and also offer some intellectual and insightful sessions.
Bibhor Srivastava, MD, events, ITP Media Group (India), elucidated the role that men need to play and work shoulder-to-shoulder with women across all chores. We then saw Capt. Edwin Saldanha, MD, Boon Edam India, hand over the stage to Minal Kini, his new HR head. Minal spoke about the opportunities that have been handed over to her in such a short stint of time. Then there are women who build communities, and sometimes unknowingly.
Coming to the first panel discussion of the day, Jayashree invited the panellists on stage to speak on 'What's your superpower? The legacy you want to leave'. Panellists for this comprised Namrata Nulwalla, ESG & Sustainability, Rustomjee; Nidhi Aggarwal, director, Signature Global (India); Shweta Rathor, AVP, HR, Ajmera Realty & Infra; Seema Vakharia, COO, Xpedeon; and Dr Shashi MM Goswami, deputy manager, Afcons.Jayashree threw myriad questions at the panellists based on their expertise in the field. Here are some pertinent points that they made.
