A GATEWAY. A GARDEN. A STATEMENT.

|June 2025
What if an airport could feel like a garden, function like a city, and inspire like a museum? At Bengaluru Airport's Terminal 2, Pravat Paikray, Vice President - Commercial Development, isn't just building spaces, he's choreographing a journey where design, culture, and commerce take flight.
At the confluence of aviation ambition and world-class retail innovation stands Terminal 2 of Bangalore International Airport, a soaring vision not just of infrastructure, but of immersive experience. Spearheading this transformation is Pravat Paikray, Vice President - Commercial Development at Bangalore International Airport (BIAL), whose two-decade legacy in retail now fuels his mission to redefine what airports can mean to modern travellers. As BLR Airport undergoes a monumental expansion, Paikray isn't merely building out retail real estate, he's curating a destination. From high-street brands to hyper-local icons, from tech-infused convenience to cultural immersion, the retail experience zone at Terminal 2 is being meticulously designed to elevate the airport into a vibrant marketplace of discovery, indulgence, and identity.
In this exclusive interview, he takes us through the philosophy behind BLR's stunning Terminal 2, the radical rethinking of airport retail, and how sustainability, storytelling, and digital innovation are being woven into the very fabric of India's most future-forward transport hub. He offers a glimpse into how the team envisioned the airport as a living, breathing ecosystem, where nature meets narrative, technology fades into intuition, and every square foot pulses with the cultural soul of Karnataka.
