We toast the winners of Cellars in the Sky
Business Traveler US
|April 2025
BUSINESS TRAVELLER'S CELLARS in the Sky awards are aging like a fine wine.

The competition, organized by our sister publication, has celebrated the best wines in first and business class since 1985. This year's competition was strong, with 32 airlines entering—the largest number of carriers since pre-Covid. The winners were revealed at a ceremony at ME London, supported by Whispering Angel, Viña Concha y Toro Family of Wineries, The Pickle House and Golden Egg Vodka.
Time for Tasting
As always, the awards are judged by a panel of experts—this year comprising Charles Metcalfe (head judge), Masters of Wine Peter McCombie and Sam Caporn, and winemaker John Worontschak. We joined the judges at Haberdashers' Hall in London's Smithfield as they put the barrels to the test.
To stop bias from diluting the results pool, the judges take part in a blind tasting. Bottles are concealed in thick black bags and only revealed once the scores are recorded.
