Dodging a Bullitt

Ford's new Mustang EV offers efficiency but not the brand's legendary thrills

FORD’S FIRST PURPOSE-built EV is an accomplished electric vehicle that bears little resemblance to a Mustang muscle car from the ‘60s blockbuster Bullitt. Readers of a certain age will lament the Mach-E's lack of combustion burble from a V-8 engine, as well as the driving thrills exploited by the king of cool—Steve McQueen.
