BUILDING A WELLNESS EMPIRE

Zydus Wellness is evolving from a summer staples player into a year-round functional nutrition powerhouse
WHEN Zydus Wellness CEO Tarun Arora reflects on the past fiscal year for the company, his voice carries both optimism and strategic clarity. With three consecutive quarters of double-digit growth and a strong fourth likely, Arora is steering the company into FY26 with the conviction that it has built a business not just fit for summer but for all seasons.
“FY25 has been marked by robust year-over-year growth, driven by strategic acquisitions, product innovations, and strong consumer traction,” he says.
Even as macro factors like inflation and subdued urban demand weighed on many FMCG players, Zydus Wellness bucked the trend. The personal care vertical, which includes flagship brands such as Nycil and Everyuth, logged an impressive 39 per cent growth during 9MFY25. The food and nutrition segment, housing brands such as Glucon D, Nutralite etc. grew 12 per cent in the same period, outpacing industry averages.
Riding the Summer High
In fact, Q1 and Q4 are very important for Zydus Wellness. These two quarters contribute disproportionately to the firm's topline, largely due to the dominance of seasonal brands like Glucon D and Nycil. As summer came early this year the company moved early to prepare. “Preparations begin well in advance. We focus on strengthening the supply chain, ensuring manufacturing readiness, and filling trade pipelines,” says Arora
What's new is Zydus Wellness' foray into ready-to-drink hydration. Glucon D Activors, piloted last year, has now been rolled out more widely in tetra packs, combining electrolytes with energy.
Even in the personal care segment, seasonal adjustments are underway. The company is pushing its talc range harder, particularly in the prickly heat and cooling category, an area Arora believes has been under-leveraged due to the limited success of sweat absorption formats in India.
