The weather was so good this week that I 'bunked off' on Monday, drove down to the boat and pottered upriver for an afternoon of swinging off a visitor buoy at Dittisham in the sunshine. As I sat there, watching the world go by, a surprising number of boaters had similar ideas. I was treated to a steady parade of vessels heading upstream, including a beautiful old Fairline 50, which I sold for the first owner in Torquay back in 1998. Built in around 1989, if memory serves me well, it then moved round to the River Dart and has been there ever since.
