Ducati unveils its first single-cylinder engine in three decades

The mechanical clatter of a desmodromic valvetrain and a V-twin engine with the forward cylinder placed horizontally — these are the images that come to mind when you hear the name Ducati, apart from the colour red. However, Ducati did have a smattering of single-cylinder models throughout its storied history and now there’s a new single-cylinder Ducati engine — the Superquadro Mono.
