Porsche 911 Goes Hybrid!

The Carrera GTS will be the first to get the hybrid powertrain

The inevitable has happened. Porsche has gone hybrid with the 911. This wasn't something we wanted to see happening given the 911's purity of intent, but it's happening. The Carrera GTS will be the first road-legal 911 to sport a hybrid system, though of course, Porsche as we know likes to do things differently, so purists can heave a sigh of relief. The German sportscar maker claims the new 911 is a significant improvement over its predecessor and can do the 0 to 100kmph sprint in just 3 seconds (claimed).
