Envy, that unmistakable sting, rushed through me when Bert got the chance to swing his leg over the 2024 BMW R 1300 GS during its media ride in Ladakh last year. As someone who breathes Adventure motorcycles, it was hard not to be saddened by the fact that I missed riding THE motorcycle whose two alphabets are enough to let any purist know what I am talking about. But, as they say, patience is the key to everything. And this key unlocked the door for me to have a second bite at the cherry with none other than the top variant in the R 1300 GS line up, the Option 719! But is it all just a bling on the block? Let's dive in.

First glance at this behemoth and you will immediately sense, this isn’t your average GS. That's because the Option 719 is BMW’s exclusive variant draped in Aurelius Green metallic paint with golden accents throughout. Aimed at providing exclusivity to the customers, BMW has thrown in all the comfort features and special cosmetic bits that you can think of. You get golden-coloured handlebars and wheels, dual tone rubber tank-wrap on the top with an embedded “Option 719” logo that runs seamlessly into the seat’s colour tone. You will see a similar treatment and branding on the brake and clutch reservoirs, footpegs and the knuckle protectors. In addition to this, you will get to see a bunch of milled parts that add to the overall premiumness of the motorcycle.
