LET'S TAKE A PEEK AT SOME OF THE INTRIGUING CARS LINING UP IN EACH CLASS FOR STREET MACHINE DRAG CHALLENGE 2025

THE 2025 running of Street Machine Drag Challenge will be the 10th instalment of our full-fat, five-day drag-and-drive extravaganza.
It will also be the biggest event in our history, with over 280 rigs lined up to take on the ultimate challenge for street cars Down Under.
There are a stack of topnotch contenders coming, with the likes of Terry Seng, Keith Hards, Mark Drew, Adam Rogash and more fighting it out for top honours.
In this preview, we'll look at several first-time Drag Challenge racers, some old friends who have rejigged their rides, and a couple of longtime competitors who are overdue for some well-earned ink.

DAVID & TIM FETTELL
VOLVO 240 WAGON PSR 8.5 RADIAL
Having already built a BMW M3-powered Datsun 240Z, David Fettell decided he and his brother Tim needed something to keep idle hands from mischief. Their love of fast wagons and drag racing saw them grab a high-mileage, forlorn-looking Volvo 240 wagon from Queensland, sight-unseen.
"We've both built numerous cars of many and varied types over the years and wanted to do something we can share and enjoy together," says David. "We are drag racers from many years back and we both love long-roofs. Our car was transported down to Melbourne, where it has been built to be a super-sleeper, specifically for Drag Challenge." Taking a lead from Mikael Borggren's epic sixsecond 240 Volvo wagon that terrorised Hot Rod Drag Week for several years, David and Tim have crammed a turbo LS, TH400 and nineinch into the iconic labrador-hauler.
