Not happy with your on-site TV reception? Here are eight aerials that could transform your viewing pleasure
-
A TV aerial is an important piece of your motorhome touring kit, allowing you to relax and enjoy your favourite television shows with a picture-perfect image.
Nowadays, motorhome TVs usually come with builtin Freeview tuners, which allow you to plug in your aerial and then start enjoying your favourite shows.
So, the advantage of a good TV aerial is that it will help you enjoy live television even if you don't have decent access to the internet in a motorhome at your chosen campsite.
To help you find the right motorhome aerial for your needs, we're sharing some of our favourite picks on the market, including options from Milenco, Avtex and more.
VISION PLUS STATUS 350 OMNI-DIRECTIONAL DIGITAL TV ANTENNA
Price £118.99 (amazon.co.uk)
Pros Good cable length, ideal for digital TV
Cons Doesn't receive DAB radio or FM signals
The Status 350 is a well-designed option if you're looking for a motorhome TV aerial that is suited to digital television. However, unlike the Status 355 (see opposite), the Status 350 doesn’t receive FM or DAB radio signals.
This omnidirectional TV aerial does come with a VP2 TV signal amplifier, and the five-metre integrated coaxial cable should provide plenty of flexibility for creating a viewing experience that best suits you. If you want even more versatility, a model with a 10-metre cable is also available.
The TV aerial comes with three fitting options; these include the permanent option, a 25mm mast fitting and a suction pad fitting.
MILENCO POWER 900 OMNI-DIRECTIONAL TV AERIAL Price £145 (primaleisure.com)
Pros Works well in low signal areas
Cons Relatively pricey
