What happened to fairness?

Why do some people refuse to accept that camping simply isn't the bargain it once was

Oh, my word. I am regularly amazed by how often I encounter campers who almost proudly proclaim that they refuse to pay “a farm's price” for a decent camping experience.

These are the people who hop from one internet forum to another – active on every imaginable WhatsApp and Facebook group - determined to track down the cheapest campsite in existence.

Their pleas usually start innocently enough: “Hi, looking for a campsite...” before they lose the plot at alarming speed. “It must have everything: a heated pool, someone to pitch our tent, someone else to wash our dishes, and a camp shop cheaper than the supermarkets. Oh, and the kids must be entertained all day. And, of course, it can't cost a fortune – fuel and toll fees already blow the budget!” Okay, maybe they don't always say it quite that bluntly, but you know exactly the type I mean, right?
