Why this bike?

It was the only one I won on eBay! I'd been bidding on loads of bikes after wanting a project to work on, various things from GS1200 Adventures to ZX10s and Fireblades, but I kept getting outbid at the last minute - basically, if anyone has overpaid for a written-off bike, it’s probably my fault. Anyway, this looked terrible in the pictures, had intergalactic mileage, but it’s a Triumph Triple and I like how they ride, so I thought why not! Instant buyer’s remorse when I realised I'd won it, and I now owned a bike with two square wheels. This one has had two previous owners. I think the first cherished it, put loads of tat on it, and kept it garaged. He then sold it to someone who commuted in and out of London every day on it with minimal servicing and cleaning. Then crashed it. Giving it the once over after delivery, both wheels were scrap, it didn’t start, it had an oil leak from a hole in the engine case, and various bits were knackered/bent/covered in filth. Perfect. It also had MCT stickers on the forks and a Scotoiler, so the previous owner was a man who liked to party but cared about longevity of consumables. The opposite of me, then...
