I‘ve just got back from two days of riding around the Fens on a Fireblade.

The route taken is probably best described as ‘memorable,’ sporting so many lumps, bumps, and canyon-sized cracks that survival seemed questionable at times... much to the amusement of my mates on their nakeds and adventure bikes. I could have conformed. I could have picked a comfier, more ‘practical’ ride. But my stubbornness and stupidity fuelled a real adventure on the Blade. My ride was so much more animated, often demanding me to stand on the pegs, with arms stretched low to the clip-ons, relentlessly throwing the bike here, there, and everywhere, at the last minute, to avoid being jettisoned to the moon. A lot of swear words slipped out of my mouth, but for the rest of the time it was consumed by a ma
