Eicher Trucks and Buses has launched its next-generation Pro Plus range of Light and Medium Duty (LMD) trucks. Designed for evolving logistics needs, the series offers enhanced fuel efficiency, higher payloads, air-conditioned cabins, and smart connectivity. Vishal Mathur, EVP - LMD Trucks and Eicher Power Solutions, VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd., explains to Richa Tyagi, how Eicher is setting new benchmarks in fleet productivity, uptime, and sustainability.

Q. What makes the new Pro Plus range standout?

A. In the Pro Plus series, we have introduced several key enhancements designed to maximise customer benefits. First, we have increased the payload capacity across the five-tonne, seven-tonne, nine-tonne, and 18-tonne categories. Within the same GVW, customers can now carry more load, which directly translates into higher freight earnings. Second, we are offering the widest range of cargo body length options in the industry, from 10 ft. to 33 ft. This allows customers to choose the most suitable deck length-payload combination for their specific requirements, giving them greater flexibility and efficiency. Third, we have extended air-conditioning across the entire LMD truck range. While we were ready with HVAC cabins even before regulations required them, a few months ago we went further by introducing fully air-conditioned cabins, which are now available across all models. This significantly improves driver comfort, which in turn enhances productivity. So, with higher payloads, more cargo body options, and air-conditioned cabins, the Pro Plus series empowers customers to run more efficient operations and improve their business revenues.

Q. Before designing the Pro Plus range, what customer feedback went into the development?

A. We actively engage with our customers to understand their evolving needs and expectations for future trucks. Several features have been specifically incorporated to address customer requirements, ensuring the trucks truly meet and exceed their expectations.
