ACE Pro Trilogy

With the Tata ACE Pro variants, Tata Motors leaves a mark on its stronghold sub-one- tonne segment offerings. The ACE Pro is a play at balancing mechanical simplicity, new age-day drivability, and application-led engineering.
The Tata ACE Pro rekindles Tata Motors' strong foothold in the mini truck segment.
The legacy ACE platform continues to yield offspring. First seen at Bharat Mobility 2025, we got the opportunity to test drive all three variants of the Tata ACE Pro: Electric, Bi-Fuel (CNG+Petrol), and Petrol at the 'Auto cluster centre 'in Pune, which served as the indoor test bed. All three variants retained the unmistakable Ace silhouette that has defined the SCV cargo segment for two decades. However, a closer look and time behind the wheel revealed substantial upgrades in design refinement, powertrain behaviour, and application- specific engineering.
Beginning with the electric variant, the vehicle came pre-loaded with a 0.750 tonne (750 kg) payload. The payload consisted of filled milk cans. Despite the voluminous load, the drive felt effortless and nearly silent with the characteristic hum. The EV's refreshed blue livery immediately distinguished it from its ICE siblings, while halogen headlamps, nose- mounted indicators, and a redesigned cabin windshield lent it aesthetics and enhanced utilities. Ingress and egress were smooth despite the mini built, and the seating layout supported a commanding track view with all-around. Operating the two-pedal setup with a rotary gear shifter like in the ACE EV, one gets used to the electric variant with a handson experience like we did. The drive was intuitive and smooth, and the initial acceleration was instantaneous without a lag. The Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor.(PMSM) develops 38 hp and 104 Nm torque to help do the job.
