The new M2 CS's uprated 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six produces an M3/M4 Competition-matching 390 kW and 650 N.m, increases of 37 kW and 50 N.m over the standard M2. Noteworthy, while the M3/M4 Competition channels power to the road through BMW's M xDrive system, the apex M2 retains a rear-wheel-drive layout and is mated exclusively with the Bavarian brand's eight-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission.
