Navaneeth Wins Double

Navaneeth Kumar S, Rohan R, and Yogesh P were the winners in the second round of the J K Tyre Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup INDIAN RACING

WITH 18 POINTS EACH, Anish Shetty and Navaneeth Kumar S were the favourites in the professional category for the second round of the J K Tyre Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup.

Among the amateurs, Yogesh P had a good lead with 20 points while Nijin A and Johnson Saldanha had 12 and 11 points respectively.

Although he showed up for practice, Anish had to bow out from the rest of the weekend due to illness. Kayan Patel, Navaneeth, and Jagadeesh Nagaraja qualified on the front row.

Kayan took the holeshot with Jagadeesh and Soorya P M in tow. After making quick work of Jagadeesh and Soorya, Rohan took the lead from Kayan as they headed into the first corner for the fourth lap.

While that unfolded, Soorya was also overtaken by a charging Navaneeth. With Rohan pulling away at the front, Navaneeth was unable to give chase due to Kayan's defence. Following a couple of unsuccessful attempts, Navaneeth made the move stick down the main straight and set off after Rohan. With his smooth-flowing lines, Navaneeth was able to slowly close the gap to Rohan. He also had a bit of luck on the last lap because a back-marker slowed down Rohan, allowing Navaneeth to move into the lead.
