THE FIRST REAL TEST FOR OUR Wrangler since it rolled out of Storm Jeeps came in the form of an off road recce run in North Wales. We'd been plotting a feature and YouTube film with some properly serious off roaders - an Arctic Trucks massaged Land Cruiser, Land Rover's Defender Octa and an Ineos Grenadier on portal axles - and needed to know whether the lanes would accept them. So the Wrangler went first as scout.

The Cupra Raval is a smaller Born, as the Ibiza is a smaller Leon. Except... not. First, Cupra had design freedom for the Raval, whereas the Born is a VW ID.3 in lipstick.
